Please join us at the County Board of Education Public Hearing to support a new, small, public middle school for our Valley. We expect to make a clear demonstration of the groundswell of support from SLV families and community for an alternative middle school option. Can you bring some friends and family with you? We want to show the Board how passionate our supporters are!
ILA’s small, project-based middle school is fully funded for the fist five years, and ILA has been approved by the State of California for a grant of $475,000 — in addition to the $875,000 we raised to fund our facility, furniture and technology. If this sounds too good to be true, it’s not. We are a serious group of local residents and career educators who have been working on this grassroots project since 2017.
All we need now — the LAST hurdle to our school opening in the fall — is a vote of approval from the Santa Cruz County Board of Education.
If you would like a small, responsive middle school in the Valley for your child to attend, NOW IS THE TIME TO SHOW UP.
Please make every effort to be our Public Hearing on February 21 at 4pm and please spread the word.
Free snacks and child care will be provided by Boulder Creek Girl Scouts Troop 10233 in a space adjacent to the Board room.
This is a Valley school to benefit our children and our community as a whole, and we would LOVE to be able to celebrate the opening of ILA in the Fall with you!
Please sign up here to let us know you will be attending.
